Where the buildings are and who lives in them
Port Whitby is the largest cluster. The mid-rises north and south of Victoria Street were marketed to GO commuters and to buyers who wanted the harbour, the arena and the lakeside trail at the door, so you will find a mix of young professionals and retirees and a lot of one-bedroom-plus-den layouts. Downtown Whitby's low-rise buildings sit within a few blocks of the Four Corners, close to the library, the restaurants and the farmers' market; several older apartment-style condos along Dundas Street have larger suites from the 1980s with small fees for their age. Blue Grass Meadows and Pringle Creek hold a handful of older buildings near Thickson Road. North of Taunton Road the buildings are newer and lower, and Brooklin's condos are boutique-scale near its downtown. Rural Whitby has none.
