Where Whitby's townhouses are
Port Whitby has the newest concentration: blocks of three-storey towns south of Victoria Street built for GO commuters, with rooftop terraces and a short walk to the platform. Downtown Whitby carries a few infill rows near the heritage streets. Blue Grass Meadows and Pringle Creek have the 1970s and 1980s condominium complexes, usually two-storey with a fenced yard and a single garage, on winding crescents off Thickson Road and Anderson Street. Rolling Acres adds 1990s freehold rows. North of Taunton Road the pattern flips to freehold: Taunton North and Williamsburg were laid out in the 1990s and 2000s with wide rows of two-storey towns on standard lots, and Brooklin's subdivisions off Carnwith Drive and Winchester Road have continued that into the newest builds, many carrying a common-element charge for the rear lane. Rural Whitby's few townhouses sit in Brooklin's north edge and the Ashburn area developments.
