Where Scugog's bungalows sit
Three settings account for most of the results. The first is Port Perry itself: the streets between Simcoe Street and the lake, plus the seventies subdivisions west of Old Simcoe Road, hold the town's original bungalows, many with the basement finished decades ago and some already opened up into a great room. The second is Canterbury Common and the smaller adult-lifestyle groupings around it, where the houses are newer, the lots are compact and a monthly fee covers the grounds; ask for the fee schedule and the rules on fences and exterior changes before you write an offer. The third is the countryside, where a raised bungalow on a rural lot gives you a bright lower level with full windows, a double garage below or beside, and room for a workshop. Blackstock and Greenbank reportedly draw from municipal wells, while most other hamlets rely on private ones.
