Where Oshawa's semis are and how they were built
Lakeview, south of the 401 between Simcoe Street South and Park Road, has block after block of 1950s and 1960s semis close to the beach and to the GO station on Bloor Street, some with a separate side entrance and a finished basement already in place. Vanier, west of downtown near the Oshawa Centre, has the same era on slightly larger lots. Donevan and Eastdale, east of Ritson Road, add 1960s and 1970s semis on the streets between King Street East and Rossland Road, usually two-storey with an attached garage rather than a shared drive. Central has a few older pairs near the core. In the north end the new semis of Kedron, Windfields and Taunton are two-storey, three-bedroom homes on narrow lots with a single garage and a builder warranty. Rural Oshawa and the hamlets have almost none.
